When Design Meets Precision: The A+W Logo in Glass

Witness the debut of a custom glass table in the shape of our logo — designed and fabricated with Kensington Glass Arts — at GlassBuild America 2025.

Published on 27 October 2025

This year at GlassBuild America 2025, we wanted to do something that truly stands out in our booth. So, we came up with an idea: what if our iconic A+W logo wasn’t just on the wall, but actually built into the booth itself as a glass table?

It’s more than just furniture. It’s a way to represent who we are — precise, innovative, and a little bold — and we couldn’t think of a better partner than Kensington Glass Arts (KGa) to help bring it to life.

The Partnership: A+W and Kensington Glass Arts

Kensington has been part of the A+W family since 2008, and they’re known for tackling complex architectural glass projects all across the Mid-Atlantic. They do everything from stunning interiors to detailed façade work, and they always deliver craftsmanship with precision.

When we asked Jim Rathbone and Ryan Heilman at Kensington Glass Arts to help us turn A+W’s logo into a trade-show-ready glass table, they didn’t hesitate. As they told us: “We were pleased to be picked by A+W to work on this table, considering the numerous clients [A+W has] in this industry. We’ve enjoyed our collaboration and the many ways A+W has helped improve our capabilities over the years — and we hope this continues long into the future.”

From Concept to CAD

Our idea was simple: make something dramatic that shows off the A+W identity. But making a functional, stable, and durable table in the shape of our logo? That was the challenge.

Kensington’s team mapped out every detail, from the tabletop to the legs and the backing using A+W Business and Production. Once the final size was set, they worked backward to make sure every piece fit perfectly. They admitted it looks simple when finished, but there were a lot of small details that had to come together to make this “trade show ready.”

 The Fabrication Process

Turning the CAD design into reality meant combining digital precision with expert craftsmanship. The process followed multiple key steps:

  1. Cutting – Using a Bystronic cutting table, the glass sheet was cut into the exact dimensions of the A+W logo.
  2. CNC Shaping – Complex details and edges were refined using the Intermac CNC machine to ensure accuracy.
  3. Polishing – Surfaces were polished for clarity and brilliance by the Schiattii Straight Line Flat Edge Polisher, giving the table a flawless finish.
  4. Tempering – Glass pieces were tempered in a Glaston oven.
  5. Backpainting – Making the logo stand out was essential: the A+W emblem was etched, masked, sprayed blue, then finished with crisp white detailing for a bold contrast, thanks to our partners Classic Glass & Stone.
  6. Metal Backing Collaboration – Special thanks to our partner Chillum Sheet Metal, who provided the precise metal work that supports and strengthens the table’s unique design.
  7. Assembly – then combined with backing and carefully positioned legs for strength and stability.

One of the trickiest parts was the legs. Because of the logo’s shape, Kensington had to engineer a way to keep the table stable — so no one could lean on the edge and tip it over. Smart thinking kept it both safe and beautiful.

The result is something that captures exactly what we hoped for: a clean, polished showpiece that reflects clarity, strength, and precision — the same values A+W builds into our software.

More Than a Table — A Symbol of Innovation

At first glance, it’s just a table. But it’s really a symbol of what can happen when software and craftsmanship work hand in hand. Every cut, every polished edge, every decision in the process reflects the same philosophy we share with our customers: when you pair the right tools with the right people, anything is possible.

Where to See It

The logo table will make its debut in our new booth at GlassBuild America 2025, November 4–6 in Orlando, FL. Visitors will get the chance to see the craftsmanship up close — and Kensington Glass Arts hopes you’ll notice the attention to detail in every piece.

For us, this project is a reminder of the strength of our partnerships. We’re proud to work with Kensington Glass Arts on something so unique. More than that, we’re excited to share it with you.

At the end of the day, it’s not just a table. It’s a symbol of innovation, collaboration, and a little bit of fun — and we can’t wait for you to see it in Orlando.
